We did a LOT of driving today. We left early this morning and just wanted to drive and see EVERYTHING! About 12 hours later we still have not driven through this whole park. It was a great day. Whether it was staring at geysers and mud pots, scouring the land for a glimpse of any wildlife, or hiking to water falls we found plenty to keep us busy! I love just driving! We saw bison, fox, elk, big horned sheep, and pronghorn, and MORE bison. Bison are everywhere. We are still searching for Moose and Joel really hopes to see a pack of wolves. The town of Mammoth is really neat, and we loved driving through Lamar Valley, that is where we saw a ton of Bison! The girls worked on their Jr. Ranger books all yesterday and today. We have included some photos of scat, although we have seen much bigger in person. :) We also waded in a river where HOT springs were pouring into it. The water from the springs was boiling hot, the river was cold, making some very warm spots to play in!
Camping life has become the normal around here. Only 10 days left on this big adventure of ours and we wish we could just keep on going. Real life calls. Alaynea and Joel have college classes that have already began and the rest of the kiddos will start after labor day. I am not sure there are enough words to describe all that we have seen and done but Yellowstone is a great ending to an amazing vacation. But wait, it is not over yet! :)
