The Redwoods!

Serene. This is the word I would use to describe this place. The Redwoods did not disappoint. In fact, the kids said to skip Sequoia and just head straight here! Today we slept in and I made the kids a big pan of sausage gravy and biscuits. We headed out to explore and hike. Imagine just walking around looking straight up. These trees are incredible! I took way to many photos trying to capture this beauty but not sure it is even possible! Can we just stay here forever? Shaded easy hikes, beautiful scenery, and cool weather. We took the kids to Battery Point Lighthouse. Faith loved exploring the rocky coast and seeing all the living things that live in the cracks. We started a fire when we got back and I decided to cook our entire dinner on it. A pork loin, baked potatoes, and green beans. We were not sure if it was going to be edible but to our surprise it was delicious! After dinner we went to a secluded spot on the beach to play and watch the sunset. We kept the fire going late and enjoyed some smores while watching the Olympics. It was a great day!
